Writer's Block

Hello Everyone. I hear I have been a big dissapointment lately with my blogging entrees. I must say they have been lacking. I feel sort of like I have writer's block. I have sat down a few times to write and it seems nothing comes out. I feel like I have to have something big going on in order to write, but I am realizing I can write about anything and everything! So here I go!

Alyssa is getting soooo big. She is just talking up a storm and the sentences are just forming away. It really is amazing to see the everyday development of a child. She never seems to amaze me. I can't believe she will be two years old in four months. She is just growing up way too fast. I never knew parenting could be such a blessing. Oh was I wrong. Children really are a gift from god!

We recently re-did Alyssa's room. We painted it light pink and did some accent work with zebra and polka dots in the choc. brown and light pink. I think it is just precious! It turned out way better than I had anticipated. We wanted a verse going around the room and had a really hard time finding the right one. We have always felt the importance of scripture in the home. I don't feel there can ever be too much of God's promises in the home. It is protection and comfort! Just a great feeling knowing that as she sleeps and plays, God's word is surrounding her!

We ended up choosing Psalm 139:13-14. "You knitted me together in my mothers womb, & I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are you ways and that I know well."

Here are a few pictures from her room and the latest of her!

Snow Skiing Weekend Getaway!

Matt and I spent the end of last week and this past weekend in Durango, Colorado snow skiing. We love to snow ski so we decided to use my birthday for an excuse to go. It was a great trip. It was just the two of us and we had a blast. We left on Thursday morning and planned on spending the night somewhere in New Mexico, but we were making such good time that we ended up driving in to Durango and staying there on Thursday night. We ended up getting a whole day in that we were not planning for, so that was nice. We went to some amazing restaurants and just had a wonderful time together. Alyssa stayed with my mom half the time and Matt's parents the other half. She had a great time with both of her nana's. It makes it so much easier to leave her when we know she is being loved on and taken care of the way she is. Also, every time we call she is laughing and talking to us and so excited! We are blessed with such great families that are MORE than willing to offer us a night out, or a weekend to ourselves! Matt and I have realized it is so important for us to have OUR time together. We cherish it dearly!

Here are a few pictures from the trip. It was breathtaking. God's creation is just amazing and I found myself standing in AWE!

New Years Celebration...

Matt and I enjoyed New Year's in Dallas this year. We left on Sunday and came back New Years Day after the Raz. game. We went to some great restaurants and spent New Years Eve at Six Flags. We first RAN..yes RAN to the Titan and rode it about 5 times and the other rides several times too. Matt is like a little boy when it comes to theme parks, so we had a great time and It was a great new years eve. We didn't quite make it till midnight to ring in the new year. Six flags wore us out!

We woke up New Years morning all pumped for the game...but things did not turn out too great for the hogs! That's ok. It is a new year and hopfully things will be looking up for the Razorbacks!

Well until next time, Hope the year ahead brings much happiness for you all!

So much to say...

Well, we decided to start blogging, because we have loved following all of our friends lives and we thought it would be fun for everyone to see what's goes on at the Ward house!

The newest news in our lives is that we have relocated ourselves to the Alma area. Matt's job requires him to be in Northwest Arkansas a few days a week and Fort Smith a few days a week. It just so happens that he is in Fort Smith much more than Fayetteville so after a long amount of prayer and thinking, we felt God was moving us to the Alma area. It was a hard move at first, but as soon as we committed and decided to make the move, God changed our hearts and brought us so much excitment in the move!
We have been here for about 2 1/2 months and it feels like we have always been here. We are looking forward to raising Alyssa and Lord willing another child here too! It is a great place for us and we could not be happier!

We are so blessed to have such a wonderful little girl who brings so much JOY to our lives. God has given her a wonderful personality and a loving spirit! She is just such a blessing to us and we have enjoyed every minute of her life.

Christmas was so much fun this year. It was great to spend time with family and friends. It becomes so hectic at times, but then I just stop and thank God for family and friends to be able to get together with. I know like could be oh so much worse than having "too many" places to go. Oh how we forget!

Alyssa loved all her toys this year. She is pretty much into anything that makes sounds and sings. She dances and loves to sing and it is just the cutest thing ever! She loves to show you all the words she can say and will sit for ever pointing at things to name and looking around till she sees something else she can say! It is pretty funny! She is learning and growing up so fast!

We are leaving tomorrow for Dallas for the cotton bowl. It was one of our Christmas gifts from my mom and we are so looking forward to it! I can't wait to leave!

Well, for now...that is about all going on here. Oh but there is never a dull moment here so just be on the look out for more postings soon!
