A little QT with my man.

Matt and I decided to hit up a new trail this past week. It is fairly new to our area and we have been hearing such great things about it so we checked it out for ourselves!!
It was so much fun. We decided to run the train instead of walk. Matt's training for a hunt he and his dad got drawn for in Arizona and I just enjoy running and a new challenge of any sort!! This was challenging but mostly just a blast.
Our creator is simply amazing. We were in awe of the beauty of this trail and the beauty of all creation. I often think I have to go off to a quiet place to experience The Lord but he always makes himself known if I am willing to just listen. Through the rustling of the leaves below our feet. Through the sound of heavy breathing as we ran (and there was lots of that going on). Through the waterfalls and streams Raging water. In the stillness of our heart. He is there.

Life is crazy busy...but my response can't be to run faster. It must be listen. To seek Him. In the midst of chaos He's never forgotten me. Thankful.

Come close to God, and He will come close to you....James 4:8

We did it!!:)

This is sooo late in the news, but a couple friends and I ran our first half marathon a few weeks ago!  It was so much fun and such a sense of accomplishment!  The whole  time I was running I was just thanking God that he has given me the strength, energy, and health to train for and run such a race.   I am so glad that I set my mind to it and did it!!  It really is the best feeling knowing you have done something you never dreamed you would be able to do!

Love these two girls!  I couldn't think of anyone else to run my first run with!!

Um...I seriously scored some major loot at the race!  I mean, that's pretty much why I signed up in the first place!!  kidding...kind of:)

This man was my biggest fan.  He and Cody were there every couple of miles to cheer us on. It was a huge encouragement.  I am so thankful I am married to a man that loves me and supports me.  Even when it takes time away from our family!  Blessed.

Weekend away

This past weekend we took the girls away for a little family time. We picked up Alyssa from school and headed to Fayetteville for some Razorback baseball. The girls always have a blast at the games and this time was no exception!

We left the game and drove in to Branson. The girls woke up and immediately were ready for breakfast and some swimming!! We left for to silver dollar city about 10am and there was no traffic on the way there. Good sign #1. We were thrilled to not have to wait in any lines. The girls rode till their little bodies couldn't ride (or walk) anymore!!:).
We had a blast. We ate lots of yummy food, laughed a lot and made some precious memories with our little girls!

Thankful for time away to soak in the blessings in our life. We get busy and I feel sometimes its just good to get away and spend time just us 4. It was good.

Our Easter Weekend.

We had a great weekend in celebration of Jesus.  We talked a lot about what he means to us this time of year and what He means to us every day.  I'm constantly in awe of the sacrifice he made for me and the whole world.  I'm constantly amazed at how good he is to us and how He shows his love daily...  Whether I stop to recognize it or not!

Here is a recap of our weekend as a family!  I sure do love these people of mine.  Just another huge blessing in my life!

So we started of Saturday with yummy Pioneer Woman cinnamon rolls.  I make these each year at Christmas and freeze them.  This was my last batch and I'm pretty sure I won't be waiting till Christmas to make them again!  These are every bit of divine and every bit of wrong!!

The girls soccer game was cancelled Saturday so we had a morning of painting.  These girls love them some paint and they go. to. town.  Alyssa is one artistic little girl.  She does NOT get that from her momma!  I can mess up a stick figure.  FACT!

We decided to risk the weather and head to the Raz. baseball game on Sat.  As we were driving in to Fayetteville the skies were turning blue and the sun came out!  I started out in a Hallelujah chorus.  It's been a rain fest for a few weeks and I was stoked.  It turned out to be the best weather for some Hog baseball. :)

This little stinker has figured out she can get her self dressed.  She came out in this!  Such a fashionista that Bella is.  I told Matt that this totally explained Arkansas weather!  Right?!

Our Easter pic!  Because who doesn't have one of these?  We took several.  This was the best.  It was sunny and one little girl has bright blue eyes and bright blonde hair.  Enough said.:

And just because I love him so...

Unless the Lord builds this house, the work of the builders is wasted.

"You don't know best"

I remember growing up and hearing my parents say, "Sarah, you don't always know best!"  Or, "We have been there."  "We are just protecting you."  I was always like...dang I know you know best but man I REALLY want to do this...or do that...but I KNOW you know best and because you know best,  I am not going to do this or that!!  I didn't always do right, but I never wanted to disappoint my parents and I tried to live a life that was conscious of what the Lord wanted for me.  Now I will say again, obviously I was not perfect and I made my share of mistakes, but I was a pleaser!

A few weeks ago we were having these same types of conversations with Alyssa about how when we tell her not to do something it's because we are protecting her....so on and so on.  I felt like I had said, "Alyssa you don't know best" about a million times in a few week period.   So one afternoon we were at Cody and Olivia's house and Alyssa was babysitting Charleigh (not really, but she thought she was).  I see her letting Charleigh out the front door (good thing she wasn't really in charge).  Hehe!  I said, "Alyssa, Charleigh can't go out the front door."  Alyssa answers with, "Well she wants to!"  I said, "Well you don't know best for her, and she definitely doesn't know best for her.  (She is a few months shy of 2).

As the words so eloquently flowed out of my mouth...the smack in my face was much more fierce.  It hit me like a ton of bricks.  I felt as if the Lord said, Sarah...you need to listen to what you are telling your daughter.  This lesson is as much for you as it is for her.

How many times do I try to do things on my own?  In my own understanding.  With my own strength.  In my own timing.  With my own intentions.  The answer is daily.  Too often I try to plan my days and plan my weeks without even consulting the giver of life, and the only one who holds my days in His hands.
I get busy or stressed and I try to take care of it all on my own.  My heart's desire is to trust and cling to Jesus but I fall short sooo many times. He wants me...all of me.  He wants my desires, my  needs, and my life...all of it!  Not just the big things but every single detail.

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope! Psalm 130:5

Yes I am the vine; and you are the branches.  Those who remain in me will bear much fruit.  For apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5

The Lord is an everlasting God, He never grows weak or weary. Isaiah 40:28

I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will watch over you. Psalm 32:8

I love His word.  So real and so true.  I am clinging to these verses and pray that I will give up when I think I know best for me, and trust my creator.  The one who never grows tired or weary, and the one who knows the Pathway for my life.

Recap of our week!

So excited to be running my 1st Half Marathon with these two fabulous ladies!!

I means seriously?  I love Aldi!  42 Items for $45!  That's killer savings!:)
This little girl was so sickly on Monday and Tuesday!  She tested positive for Strep!  I am over winter and ready for some warm temps!!

Thankfully this little diva did not catch her sisters junk!  She is a big ol mess!

The beauty on the far right flew in town with her hubby to visit the other two beauties!  Life long friends!  Inspirations. Godly. Caring. Loving. Wise. Beautiful.  Examples.

Hello Crack to the Barrel!  Yes...that is indeed what I call it!  Our Friday night dates right there.  Sweet southern goodness in the form of a biscuit.  Not many do it better!
Who doesn't love a big brush pile?  It just smells like home!  Family work day on the land.  Progress.  Almost there.  House needs to sell!

Oh little miss Bella!  She's a cute little thing!  She is all about writing!  She left her middle name out so she said "We will just center it underneath."  Pretty good logic if you ask me.  :)

Looking forward to a fun filled week.  Thankful for blue skies and sunshine.  It's the little things.  His little blessings.  The Lord is good.  So very good!  Have a blessed week, y'all!
